If you happen to be in Ohio’s Amish country during the latter part of June, make sure to attend the Walnut Creek Vintage fair! Prepare to be inspired! Over 30 vendors have amazing booths under an enormous tent. There is delicious food there, along with repurposed furniture, antiques, handmade soaps, candles and much more!
For the past five years Walnut Creek Furniture has hosted the annual Vintage fair at their location. Every year except this past spring of 2018 I’ve had a booth there. It is one of my favorite things to do! There’s nothing more fun to me than inspiring people and meeting folks who share the same interests. I always make it my goal to try and sell out so I try to keep my prices very reasonable. I don’t like taking things home again after a fair like this.
Adding live plants to a booth is such a great way to add to the display. Sometimes, like pictured above, I will wrap burlap around the plant pot to give it a bit of character. It’s an easy way to spruce things up and make a few dollars more than what you gave for the plant.
I love doing herb pots. Plus they bring an amazing smell to my booth!
The Annabelle Hydrangeas are always in full bloom around the time of the fair at our house so I always fix up painted jars and old wooden boxes with them. I can never have enough on hand!
I took my old white bike and filled the basket with flowers out of my gardens and used it as a decoration for my booth. I always say anything is for sale for the right price but I didn’t give in to part with that bike at the last fair!
Most of the items in my booth will have words and quotes added to them, thanks to my Silhouette Cameo.
I am getting excited already for this year’s fair coming up in June! It makes my spring time really busy but it’s worth it! I will be posting updates in the coming months on what I’ll be working on for the fair so stay tuned. And better yet, if your thinking about making a trip to Ohio’s Amish country maybe you want to consider making it in June!
Thanks for stopping by..

Yes please do share the dates. I have always wanted to visit the Amish Country. Would be a great weekend trip for my husband and I. Love all of your stuff. I would love to know how you did the chairs that you stained the seat and painted the chair part. I did my table and need to do the chairs now and love that idea.
Mary
The fair dates are June 28 and 29th.. The chairs were originally the color of the seat so I covered the seat part and painted the rest. I have a sprayer that I used. After it was dry, I sanded the edges, distressing it to my liking. My go-to paint is Do It Best brand since our local hardware carries it. I like to use a satin base. Usually for furniture that gets a lot of wear, I give it a top coat of Polycrylic to protect the finish. Hope this helps!
